The uxerhub alternative to HireVue, for product roles
By Sergio Gualda · 5 min read · Updated
HireVue is an enterprise platform: video interviewing, an AI interviewer, virtual job tryouts, game-based and technical assessments, and integrations with the major ATSs, sold to organisations hiring at scale. uxerhub is one instrument for six product roles, bought with a card, first candidate free. If you are running hourly, campus and professional hiring across a multinational, we are not a substitute for that and will not pretend to be. If you are twelve people hiring your second designer, HireVue is not built for you.
What HireVue does better
Everything that the word 'enterprise' actually means. ATS integrations with Workday, SAP and Oracle; scheduling automation; compliance and security review at a level a small vendor cannot match; support for hourly, campus, technical and internal mobility hiring in one system. If your organisation needs that, nothing on this page is relevant to you.
Their assessment range is also genuinely wide — virtual job tryouts, game-based assessments, technical assessments, language proficiency — and it is deployed at a scale that has produced far more validation data than we have.
And at high volume, automated interviewing solves a real problem: a recruiter cannot phone-screen two thousand applicants, and the choice is not between AI screening and careful human attention. It is between AI screening and a CV pile.
Side by side
Everything in the HireVue column comes from their own public site. Where they do not publish something, this says so rather than guessing.
| HireVue | uxerhub | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Large organisations hiring at scale across many role types | Teams hiring a handful of product people, where each decision is expensive |
| How you buy it | Sales process, demo, contract | Card. First candidate free. No call, no minimum, no seat count. |
| Video | Central — video interviewing and an AI interviewer | None. Nobody is recorded, and no camera is required. |
| AI in scoring | AI across interviewing, matching and assessment | None in the scoring path. Deterministic arithmetic, no human grader. |
| Scope | Hourly, professional, campus, technical, internal mobility | Six product roles — product designer, product manager, UX researcher, design engineer, front-end engineer and UX writer. Nothing else, deliberately. |
Which one you should pick
Choose HireVue if
- You hire hundreds or thousands of people a year.
- You need deep ATS integration and enterprise compliance.
- You need one platform across hourly, campus and professional hiring.
- Automating the top of the funnel is the actual bottleneck.
Choose uxerhub if
- You hire product people occasionally and each hire changes the team.
- You want to start this afternoon without a procurement cycle.
- You do not want candidates recorded on video to be scored by a model.
- You want the score to reflect what this specific role needs.
The candidate side, which is not a small thing
Being interviewed by an AI and scored on your face and voice is an experience many strong candidates decline. At volume that cost is absorbed — there are always more applicants. For a senior product hire, the person you most want is often the one with the least patience for it.
uxerhub records nothing but answers. No camera, no microphone, no countdown. Candidates are told before they start what is measured, that visual polish is explicitly not scored, and that the company in every case is fictional. They can request a human review, get their data, or have it deleted.
Where the two genuinely do not compete
If you are the person buying HireVue, you are solving a throughput problem across an organisation. Nothing about a fifteen-minute instrument covering six roles addresses that, and swapping one for the other would be a downgrade.
The realistic overlap is narrow: a large company whose product organisation wants something sharper for design and PM shortlists than the general platform provides. That is a supplement, not a replacement, and it costs less than the meeting to discuss it.
Frequently asked
- Is uxerhub an alternative to video interviewing?
- It replaces the screening step that video interviews usually occupy — deciding who is worth a conversation — without recording anyone. It does not replace the interview itself, and it is not meant to. The report ends with what to ask in the interview.
- Do you integrate with an ATS?
- Not yet. Assessments are sent as a link and results live in the uxerhub dashboard. For teams hiring a few product people a year that is not the bottleneck; for anyone hiring at HireVue's scale it would be disqualifying, and we would rather say so than promise a roadmap.
